About The Sewing Sanctuary

Welcome to The Sewing Sanctuary in Harrogate! This is the place to be if you want to learn a new skill, relax from the pressures of life, get inspiration, make new friends or meet up with old and create some original pieces of work.

Some of you might be regular sewers who just need to make the time to keep up your creative talents. Others may never have sewn before but have always wanted to. Now is the time to start!

The Sewing Sanctuary offers small classes for all ages and abilities with a variety of classes for adults and children, from simple dressmaking to complex creative crafts. I f you would like private tuition then I can also offer that too!

You may want to have a party evening with a group of friends or a team building exercise for a group of colleagues? What better way to spend it than learning and making something together in a fun way! Nibbles and drinks can be provided at a small extra cost.

Refreshments (tea/coffee/biscuits) are included in the cost of the classes.

Some drop in sessions are available if you want to stop by and get some advice or direction for a sewing project.

So if you have always wanted to learn how to use a commercial pattern correctly, make your own clothes, finish off a long forgotten project or want to make your own gifts for Christmas, birthdays or any other life celebration, now is the time to invest in some quality time in a relaxed atmosphere.

Please browse the classes page to find a class that suits you. Level 1 for complete beginners and Level 2 for some experience of sewing. ‘Sew Young’ classes are also available for ages 10+

All classes are held at the sewing room, room 1, floor 2, Princes Street,Harrogate, HG1 1HN Parking is available nearby and it is very close to the train/bus station.
